The rename
Node 24131, a component of the APN Meridian™ (Education Value Index) branch (24130), was scoped as “Academic Standard (Schools)” — a school-quality measure built on ICSEA and NAPLAN data. ACARA’s My School Terms of Use, clause 6.4, prohibits using that data to build school rankings or league tables. The scope was replaced.
The node now measures access to schooling options: school density per 1,000 school-age population, and non-government school share, cascaded from postcode through LGA to SAL. It is named School Density & Sector Mix.
A different measure
School Density & Sector Mix does not measure academic outcomes and is not a proxy for them. It measures whether a locality has schooling options nearby, and the government/non-government mix of those options.
