Property Research & Academic Landscape

1What This Branch Covers

Node 44000 maps the organisations, programs and individuals whose research shapes Australian property, housing and urban policy debate — university research centres, independent policy institutes, and the academics who lead their work. Where node 43000 catalogues where property knowledge is distributed (YouTube channels, podcasts, newsletters, mainstream media), node 44000 catalogues where it is produced. The same real-world entity can legitimately appear in both — a research institute that also publishes a newsletter is tracked once in each branch, cross-linked rather than duplicated.

3How Entities Are Included

Universities, research centres and policy organisations are catalogued only where they run a genuinely dedicated housing, property or urban-research program — occasional coverage or a passing mention isn’t enough, and organisations with only incidental interest in the sector are left out.

Individual academics and researchers must currently hold a real institutional or organisational appointment, and either lead a named research program already catalogued here or have a track record of relevant published research from the last five years, together with a stable public professional profile (an institutional page and/or an ORCID identifier). Profiles of named individuals state only publicly verifiable professional facts — affiliation, role and research record — never a characterisation of their views or opinions.
