11200 — Property Management
Components: 8 · Agent Resources & Business (11000)
Overview
Property Management is the branch of APN’s Agent Resources & Business series covering how a managing agent runs a tenancy on a landlord’s behalf, from screening a prospective tenant through to resolving a dispute years into a tenancy. Where the Sales & Marketing branch is organised around a single transaction, Property Management is organised around an ongoing relationship — most of its eight components recur continuously across a tenancy’s life rather than happening once.
The Eight Components
How These Fit Together
Tenant Screening (11210) and Leasing (11220) establish a tenancy; Financial Management in PM (11240) and Maintenance (11230) run it day to day; Landlord Relations & Communication (11250) is the layer the landlord actually experiences, largely independent of how well the operational work is genuinely going. PM Legal & Compliance (11260) underlies every one of the other seven components, most acutely in financial management’s trust-accounting obligations, where the compliance risk is least forgiving of informal practice. Conflict Resolution for PM (11270) is what happens when any of the above breaks down — and its outcomes turn heavily on documentation quality from earlier components, particularly the condition report from Leasing (11220). PM Technology (11280) is increasingly the system all of it runs through, which makes platform selection and migration a genuinely consequential decision rather than a background IT choice.
