National Claim Test

1What This Node Covers

A National Claim Test takes a named public claim about national conditions, made by an economist, official, politician or industry figure, and tests it against the primary statistical series and Australian Property Network’s (APN’s) certified node readings. The claim is usually the subject of an attributed perspective in the 23000 Series, and the test is its companion.

2What Every Claim Test Does
  • States the claim fairly, in terms its author would recognise, with its source.
  • Breaks it into testable propositions and puts each against the primary series it rests on.
  • Reports each result plainly: the proposition holds, holds with qualification, or does not hold.
  • Tests the evidence, not the person. No motive is attributed to the author of the claim.
3Published Claim Tests

All National Claim Tests are listed in the National Claim Test archive. Claim tests on construction, investment or population questions are filed under those themes.
